Korea’s first Independent Animated Film Festival. a variety of animated filmsare introduced-films produced independently, films with an experimental spirit,films created solely from the filmmakers’ passion, and films suggesting avision for the future. As the first independent animated film festival held inKorea, Indie-AniFest 2005 presents official competition screenings with 48filmsselected from 175 submitted films, and Korean and international specialprograms with 75 films.

Indie-AniFest2005 was created only for independent animated films, for the purpose ofidentifying the trends in independent animation, which have diverged far fromthe mainstream Korean film industry, and to review the variety of films createdin the past year. Indie-AniFest will play a role in broadening the potential ofindependent animated films and support the development of that potential.Furthermore, the festival will provide a forum where independent filmmakers cancommunicate with each other and enjoy a festive mood.
