KANG Minji
Director KANG Minji moves beyond the limiting notion that artistic practice must be confined to a single medium, working across painting, sculpture, digital, and installation to pursue a harmony and fusion between analog and digital — creating fluid, unfixed media works. Her practice centers on digilog media art that emphasizes the inherent tactile and olfactory qualities of materials alongside their physical movement, engaging the senses beyond the purely visual. She seeks ways to bring disparate elements into collision — analog and digital, classical and contemporary — in order to deepen the sense of connection that emerges between them. Since beginning her career in 2006, her work has been screened and recognized at film festivals both domestically and internationally. She currently produces audio-visual and media art works rooted in animation, and has served as CEO and Director of Studio Frame by Frame since 2020.
