Synopsis
I try to take small and fragile leaves one by one and put them in my favorite notebook, but the leaves turn into paper airplanes and fly away. The paper planes disappeared and became three birds which flew away. I lured and caught the flying birds with my hand, but in the end they transformed into luminescent light and departed. The light descended upon the sea and disappeared as a glittering pearl.
Director's Comment
I try to take small and fragile leaves one by one and put them in my favorite notebook, but the leaves turn into paper airplanes and fly away. The paper planes that disappeared became three birds and flew away, and I lured and caught the flying birds with my hand, but in the end they became light and left. And the light lands on the sea and disappears as a glistening ripple

While talking with someone about the departed object, he said this. The word 'Grief that comes like a wave' really touched my heart.
My work started from the experience of losing a precious object, so I stayed in the sadness of the past for quite a long time. Again, quite a bit of time has passed, and the precious objects that still remain by my side lead me back to the present. And the painful memories are covered with time that piles up and I live day by day.
As we live our daily lives, we try to suppress painful memories rather than bring them forward. This is because those memories accompany regret, self-reproach, and eventually bring sadness. However, there are times when those memories that have been covered up come along when we face rather beautiful images. When I face the fact that these beautiful and friendly things will leave me again, sadness rushes like a bursting dam.

I thought about what we should do when we face sadness that comes without notice. If a heartbreaking moment or a beautiful moment is inevitably accompanied by some kind of sadness as time accumulates, why don't we do our best to capture, record, and remember all those moments? If so, sadness will try to disappear step by step and we will be able to live in the present.
