Synopsis

J, a woman in her thirties, discovers mold growing on her spouse’s ashes. When she sprinkles the mold onto her food, it begins to move, searching for more food. J puts the moldy food in the bathtub and starts to create something.

The round pencil strokes, unmoving images, and the emptiness of the black and white scenes give the impression of watching a cruel fairy tale that is at once beautiful and strange. The scenes that unfold one after another can’t be rationally understood, yet they convey an earnest yearning. We are drawn in by the fresh, original subject and powerful imagery, and we come to realize that there is only a fine line between reason and irrationality.
