Synopsis

The girl draws a circle on the ground. Passersby step into it, one by one. Soon the circle is full of people, struggling to stay within. Once the girl returns and erases the circle, people start heading their way.

Detailed description

The girl draws a circle, but what does it mean? For some it might represent a frame of thought, and for others perhaps a social group. Or it might be a desire to confine oneself to the “mainstream.” If we begin to discuss the meaning of the circle, we soon discover the “circle” that we each carry within ourselves. The seemingly plain drawings on paper offer a certain lightness of feeling. The spacious scenes are somehow filled in their center by the small, dense circle. As we watch the people filling in the circle, one can’t help but think there is still space for more. KIM Kyeongbae
