Synopsis

Seventeen actors transform and perform on the stage, presenting a seven-minute illusion. Where are the films and our lives heading?

Director's Comment

I aimed to capture the universal contemplation of one’s existential value through a personal monologue presented as an experimental animation. What is cinema? Why do we create illusions, and why do people gather here to willingly immerse themselves in those illusions? I hope to share this small seed of reflection with everyone through this film.

Detailed description

We are often reminded that there are countless versions of ourselves within us. Each version of us stands on a black-and-white stage like a phantom pain that has both a voice and a form. As if stripping away one’s love and hate for themselves, this animation uses unkind words to quietly offer comfort. These words don’t tell us the right answer. But the moment when the uncertain words are conveyed to us, they turn into monologues of fantasy, making us examine our inner selves. When the time comes to embrace the “phantom pain,” the disembodied voice finally says, “Red Sun!” It’s time to wake up from the fantasy.
