Synopsis

When the protagonists are playing tag, the landscape constantly changes around them. They get to reach different sides of the world. What are they going to find at the end of the journey?

Director's Comment

This film explores the idea of animation as a metaphor of our physical environment. The structure of this film associates our perception of time with stack of scenes, shots, frames. It also shows how to live with memories, regrets and diaspora when we can't resist the flow of time.

Detailed description

“Count to ten.” The game of tag seen in [Sometimes] begins with this familiar phrase, but it is also unusual. When the participants turn on a videotape inside the house, the tagger opens the door and goes outside. The sound of the videotape ends, and a lush green space unfolds together with bird songs. Here, the game of tag unfolds, along with tense music and many different techniques that are used. When someone is finally caught by the tagger’s outstretched hand, we can’t tell them apart. This animation portrays the problems in a relationship with both familiarity and fantasy.
