Synopsis

My crush Yuri left to new school today. Jaeha's heart desiring to hold her spreads on the picture diary. He slips into the past of unspoken love and finds Yuri.

Director's Comment

I aimed to direct an animation that brings the old memories in mind without any serious message, describing childhood's simple yet direct emotions in animational direction. With a schoolchild as a protagonist, the theme explores 'true heart' rather love, which is heavy.

Detailed description

When Yuri transferred schools, Jaeha was unable to confess his true feelings to her. His visual diary overflows with emotions of longing and regret. Have shame and courage, regretting and feeling cute—these contrary emotions play tug-of-war with Jaeha’s heart. The child is unable to be honest even in the most secret location, making us smile and at the same time feel pity. The cute and surreal direction make those clumsy emotions seem all the more clear and poignant. We may all have experienced such clumsy feelings at one time, and perhaps that’s why we empathize with them so deeply.
