Synopsis

The complexities of a past shared by two identical twins: Omar and Wesam. A split narrative retells the two sides of their memories—from the instant they were fused together in their mother’s womb to the moment they are parted by the tragic death of one of them.

Detailed description

The film combines cell animation and live-action film techniques to serenely portray a personal story. The real-life subject material was acquired through thorough research and location scouting, achieving a harmony with the 2D images. The traces of each character’s past and the present reality of Egypt feel believable as they are mixed together, breaking down the border between nonfiction and fiction in a natural way.
