Synopsis
"The moment the first gleam of sunlight trickled in, gently stirring the folds of a shallow sleep—that was when the graffiti appeared..." Installment #2 in the [Bungaku Bideo] series fusing Japanese literature and animation, Ryo ORIKASA’s hypnotic animated short [The Graffiti] brings to life a prose poem by Makoto TAKAYANAGI, read here by the poet himself.

Detailed description
In a dull white world, the black graffiti appears inevitable. It always looks like something new as it crosses through the city. It tries not to push a message, not even this intention. Such an entity expands the human mind and body until it breaks down all the boundaries of perception. It is a visual poem of chaos and silence which speaks to the emerging new order in the post-pandemic era.
