Synopsis
This work intends to depict a contradictory psychology known as ambivalence by metaphorically comparing a digital process called ‘defragmentation’ to a human thinking process.

Director's Comment
‘Defragmentation’ is a process to rearrange broken fragments and reduce the amount of fragments to efficiently operate the volume (hard disc or storage device) that has been broken due to repetitive deletions and recordings, thus improving the performance. This work puts the defragmentation process in the narrative structure and rearranges three episodes. The narrative units of each episode are distinguished by their unique color values and are deleted and reassembled according to their color values. From the viewpoint of the main character of each episode, the narrative units that are deleted are "unbearable, painful things." The unit stories that are not deleted are reestablished by filling in the empty slots of deleted units, thus making it look as if the deleted ones never existed.
