Synopsis

A pure love of the twenties in Spring, Spring, miserable sorrow in the forties in A Lucky Day, and a vague memory of the sixties in In the Buckwheat-Blossom Time
The film faces three lives of three persons who should smile though they were sad, who struggle to live.

 
“Whenever the wedding is, she should grow up before wedding!”

She means Jeom-sun, who will become my wife.
I have been working here without getting paid any money, for three years and seven months. For that time, she has never grown up a little, they say, so I don’t know when she really grows up. I only knew that a height of a person grows up vertically, but I didn’t know a person could grow up horizontally.

 “That kind of story is just perfect on a moonlight evening.”
“I don’t even know how it happened on that moonlight evening.”
The mountainside is all covered with buckwheat fields, and you might not even take a breath looking at the buckwheat flower blossom like sprinkled salt under the pleasant moonlight. It seems sorrowful like red bamboo stem, and the steps of donkeys are cheerful. Since the road is narrow, three guys ride their donkeys in one line. Donkey bells are jingling lightly and flowing towards the buckwheat field.

The large drops of tears from the live fell into the stiff face of the dead. All of a sudden, Mr. Kim began to nuzzle his face to that of the dead madly and muttered.
“I bought an ox bone soup, but why can’t you just eat? Why not? Weirdly, today I was very lucky…”
