Program Note

The raw lines and delicate animation grab the viewer’s attention from the very beginning. We follow the main character across painterly scenes, breathing in the welcome Hong Kong cityscape. I’ve seen many films about social problems that had a direct message, but there is a soft spot in my heart for a film that uses animals as a metaphor.
