Synopsis

The heroine who always sees romantically toward the life. In the next room, her youngest sister was born. By now her twinkling childhood has been gone, and she has to take care for someone else. Aging more, she suddenly feels herself as the old-fashioned person. Even her garden has neither beautiful flowers nor guest in vigor. The only remainder is an old-fashioned lint. It still sticks to her in its old and stubborn shape . So it is jarring and makes her get sick of it, but for no reason she cannot hate it. This is a story about the heroine who keeps making romantic imagination, and the lint who comes to my garden everyday.

Director's Comment

This work is an animation drawing a romantic fantasy with a child’s sight, for the boring self which wants to be looked away from. For modern society’s people bearing responsibilities for being adults, I wanted to describe their regrets and obsessions in nostalgic characters and in the scene with soft feeling.

Program Note

A girl who always wears rosy romantic lenses looks upon life and faces the responsibility of having to care for her newborn sibling. At one time, her inner garden was so vibrant, but now there is nobody there, and she knows it is time to say goodbye to it. As youth passes and we grow old, many things are forgotten or given up in our modern lives. This portrait of modern people is captured in the film along with the regret and remorse we feel when we face a part of ourselves that remains from our childhood. The film is memorable for its soft emotions with a pastel ambience and its lyrical, dreamlike landscapes. Jinny Hyejin CHOO
