Synopsis

At the end of the day, Ji-young, a woman in her 20s, finds a crumpled receipt in her pocket while lighting a cigarette. Looking at a small record paper about her whole day, she looks back on her calm day.

Director's Comment

The director began with the question, "What does it mean to become an adult?" as he stepped out of his teens and into his early twenties. Even though he pondered this topic for roughly two years, he still hasn't reached a definitive answer. However, if I were to briefly explain, I think becoming an adult involves realizing that no day lasts forever, and that the times that were once very tough eventually become stories of happenings. Therefore, we need to end each day well for the sake of tomorrow. This story, which follows the protagonist's day in a flashback format without any major incidents, may be boring, but it was made with the hope that viewers would watch it comfortably without any worries. It was made with the hope that those who are diligently preparing for the future by finishing each day well will feel a small sense of empathy, encouragement, and warmth.

Program Note

What does it mean to become an adult? Ji-young, who is in her twenties, is chatting with a younger friend when she remembers her feelings of shame and loss as a teenager. The emotions that she thought would never change have dimmed now, being left to fade as memories. Now in her twenties, this is how Ji-young chooses to spend her sweet days. The comic book style and the warm, cute artwork take a potentially sad story and make it hopeful and lighthearted. We may not yet know how to become an adult, but perhaps we can crumple up the past and put it in our pocket. PARK Minjung
