Synopsis

An animated film exploring the theme of “where we find proof that those who have passed away once truly lived.” After losing his father, the protagonist gradually begins to heal from the deep emotional wounds left in the immediate aftermath. Yet as time passes, he realizes that his memories of his father are slowly fading—and he finds himself pausing, unsure of how to hold on to what remains.

Program Note

Having lost his father, the protagonist lives an unstable daily life, anchored in the past. Through grief and frustration tangled like knotted thread, he moves forward one step at a time in order to keep living. As his father's traces and habits slowly seep into his own life, he carries his absent father deep within — feeling his presence with every part of himself. Thread, a material easily prone to tangling, serves as a metaphor for the father, giving visual form to both the warmth of fond memory and the protagonist's complex inner world. The technique of layering thread over 2D imagery captures the aesthetic distance between two worlds, holding the viewer's gaze on the screen. A work that offers deep empathy and gentle warmth in the face of loss.
