Synopsis

i am gathering things for my detained friends, who were protesting against the war — books, plush toys, food. once, twice. now the list never ends, and i am gathering my own things.

Program Note

Those detained for protesting against war, and the dangerous contacts made to deliver what they need — pressing against boundaries again and again. The film channels this weight of reality and the audacious acts within it through the medium of 2D animation. The visual grammar unique to animation lightens the overwhelming gravity of reality while directing the viewer to look at the truths we must confront through a layered, multifaceted lens. Beneath the surface of animation, what can be witnessed here is pure courage.
