Synopsis

Three little insects (grasshopper, spider and butterfly) are transported to a concrete city. Ａ series of extraordinary micro-adventures forces them to explore themselves and helps to build their self-esteem, so they can finally get back home. They become much stronger and happier, are able to choose their own future.

Program Note

[A Mighty Adventure] looks, at first glance, like a naturedocumentary. The fluorescent yellow-green grasshopper, the morpho butterflywith its vivid blue wings, the jumping spider with its big eyes and fluffy coat— none of them look all that different from their real-life counterparts. Theunadorned charm of these tiny creatures, however, serves less to depict realitythan to convey something deeply felt. They are the small neighbors who shareour world, and at the same time, the young and tender parts of ourselves. Thefilm is the work of director Toe YUEN — who gave voice to the stories of HongKong people through the warmly bonded pig family of [My Life as McDull](2001)and [McDull, Prince de la Bun](2004) — this time collaborating with productionteams from Taiwan and Malaysia.
