Synopsis
For Miri, who is struggling with boredom, burnout, and anxiety about the future, an angry Miri comes to clean her room, while another Miri—who has fulfilled her dream of becoming a children’s fairy-tale writer with Zombie Frog—teaches her how to take care of herself. Next, a Miri who has become a mother arrives and shows her the sweetness of a child’s love, followed by a middle-aged Miri who helps her forgive her resentment toward her own mother. Finally, through a young Miri, she rediscovers her pure love for drawing.
Director's Comment
We live breathlessly, constantly performing countless roles in society. When a long-awaited moment of rest finally arrives, it often brings not relief, but the weight of burnout to those who have forgotten how to truly rest. In this story, the protagonist—who has been running tirelessly toward her dreams and simply trying to survive life—finds herself overwhelmed with anxiety the moment she stops. Just as she feels like giving up the heavy burdens she carries, countless versions of herself begin to appear. Through encountering them, she manages to endure another day. She learns to care for her home, nourish herself with good food, embrace new experiences, tend to the wounds deep within, and, ultimately, forgive herself. To those who have been too busy living as someone’s employee, parent, child, or friend to take care of themselves, this story offers a gentle reminder: to take a moment of rest—not for others, but for yourself. Through Miri’s strange and unusual day, I hope to offer comfort, strength, and quiet reassurance.

Program Note
Miri, now in her thirties, looks a little worn down. Various people come to visit her, and conversations unfold between them. As we listen, a shifting current of emotion passes back and forth, and gradually we hear Miri tune in to her own inner voice and carefully let her story out into the open — leaving us with a warm sense of comfort, both for ourselves and for someone else. It's not unlike candle flames flickering precariously in the wind, which somehow, together, come to fill a room with warmth.
