Synopsis

Mr. Kim, an office worker, senses an indefinable threat closing in on him. And within his mind, an endless pursuit begins. The moment he realizes what it is, Mr. Kim strives to find inner peace.

Director's Comment

I tried to express the internal state of depression through the horror genre.

I portrayed this psychological affliction as a typical monster of horror films.

I wanted to depict the struggle to overcome depression with embracing it not conflict.

Therefore, I believe that the journey getting over this agony could start with recognition and acknowledgement as part of myself.

A mysterious, unidentifiable shadow trails Mr. Kim. Drawing on noir's signature deep shadows and the taut pacing of psychological thrillers, the film transforms depression from a passive state into a relentless narrative of pursuit and struggle. It suggests that true peace of mind begins not with submitting to external order, but with reconciling one's inner self. Building on the masterful use of metaphor that marked his previous work, the director captures — with the dense, atmospheric craft of noir mise-en-scène and thriller grammar — the isolated depths that any exhausted modern soul might know.
