Synopsis

Too lonely to be alone, too exhausted to look for someone new. With no one else to talk to, our tipsy chat drifts into endless complaints with no clear answers. So... when will we ever actually date?

I have a jinx: the thing I want the most never comes true.

My friends told me it's because I want it too desperately, and that I should just let go of my greed.

They're right, but...not wanting something just to get it, isn't that a contradiction?

Program Note

An ordinary man and woman, out drinking, ramble on with tipsy, half-confessional talk about the one topic that never fails to come up at a table like theirs: love. It's a conversation we've all probably had at some point, so what is it about this one that pulls us in so completely? Probably because the film manages the difficult feat of capturing not just the words, but the very air and mood of that particular night. The moment it begins, you find yourself stepping down from your seat as a viewer, arms unfolded, sitting right down beside them. It feels as if you're breathing in the same night air, getting quietly swept up in the mood along with them. A pleasant little buzz of a film.
