Synopsis

Three neighbors—Eunwoo, a new resident; Bumsaeng, living a quiet senior life; and Jisu, worn out by her routine—seemed to have no reason to connect. Yet, they each open a "door," slowly weaving themselves into one another's worlds.

Program Note

A door is the most ordinary boundary between inside and outside — and also a device that links different worlds together. The Karrot-branded animation The Door That Opens the Neighborhood turns, with humor, to the encounters and connections that begin the moment that boundary opens. In a city where passing each other by has become the norm, the film offers a new way of seeing what "neighborhood" means, through meetings with neighbors, new opportunities, and relationships formed close to home. Rendering the brand's vision as a single, lovable story, the film carries the romance hidden within ordinary days and familiar faces, and knocks quietly at the audience's heart.
