Program Note

Behind every picture-perfect image lies a secret that no one wants to reveal. Rina, admired by everyone for her flawless appearance, turns out to be keeping up that perfection through a desperate attempt to hold in her poop. Her struggle in the face of such an ordinary yet unavoidable human need is undeniably funny, but it also brings to mind those moments we all wish no one would see. It is not her perfect image, but the awkward and desperate moments when she stumbles and tries her best to endure, that make us feel closer to Rina. By the end, all we want to do is cheer her on with a heartfelt message: Don’t hold it in, Rina!
