    KIM Youngjun

    An animation filmmaker who is fascinated with movingpictures, KIM Youngjun explores spaces and the objects that exist therein, aswell as the psychological tensions and relationships between them, throughdrawing and animation. He works in a wide range of areas involving visualimages, experimenting with animation as an art form and pushing the boundariesof the genre. He participated in numerous group exhibitions such as theGuseulmoa Project at Daelim Museum. He produced the music video [Fairy Tale] for the musician KIM Dongryul, and his work wasincluded in the [I Draw] exhibition at the D-Museum in 2019.

    OH Seoro

    Born in Seoul in1990, OH Seoro is an animation director, animator, and designer. His short animationand graduation film [Afternoon Class](2015) was shown internationally at prestigiousfestivals including Annecy(2015), Animafest Zagreb(2015), and StuttgartFestival of Animated Film(2016) and received awards such as the Lotte ReinigerPromotion Award for Animated Film. His next independent short animation [(OO)] wasacclaimed at numerous international festivals, receiving the Grand Prize at the2018 Insomnia Animation Film Festival and the Jury Special Prize at SIGGRAPHASIA Bangkok in 2017. OH Seoro has a YouTube channel with 240,000 followers andparticipated in the production of an animation presented at the Tonko Housecollaborative exhibition in Seoul in 2019. He was also selected to produce thefestival trailer for the 2019 Viborg Animation Festival(VAF).

    LEE Kyunghwa

    LEE Kyung-hwa studied animation and workedfor many years as an animator for studios and outsourced productions. She hasworked in the film festival team for the Seoul International Cartoon andAnimation Festival(SICAF, 2008~2015), the program team for the BusanInternational Film Festival(BIFF, 2008), and the Indie-AniFest executive committee(2009~2010).In 2012, she made the short animation [Underground]. In 2013, she published theSeoul Animators magazine (seoulanimators.com) which introduces animationfilmmakers and their work to readers. In 2016, she worked as the programcoordinator for the ASIA ROAD Competition atIndie-AniFest.

    Jinny HyeJin CHOO

    Majoredin Animation and Illustration and received an MFA in Art and Film from theGraduate School of Advanced Imaging Science, Multimedia, and Film, Chung-AngUniversity, Seoul in Korea and a Doctorate in Animation Theory and ContentsProducing from the same university in 2015. She is a guest professor at Schoolof Film, TV & Multimedia, the Korea National University of Arts. Beginningwith Pucheon International Student Animation Festival(PISAF) in 2000, she wasinvolved in Seoul International Cartoon Animation Festival(SICAF), Gwacheon SFFilm Festival, and is currently working for SIGGRAPH ASIA 2020 as theconference chair and Indie-AniFest as a programmer. She has studied on thepossibility of Integrated Art Therapy through animations, as she has performedanimation therapy workshops for children, teenagers and adults since 2010.

    SONG Shihyeong

    SONG Shi-hyeong received a doctoral degree in cultural sociology from Korea University and is serving as a professor in Gukje Cyber University’s Department of Entertainment. He is a member of the Indie-AniFest executive committee, and he has served as a researcher for the Film and Animation Teaching Development Project in the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education’s Innovation School Culture and Art Education Division. In addition, he has served as a jury member for the Korean Film Council’s Animation Script Contest and Korea Manhwa Contents Agency’s Korea Creative Comics Contest.

    JUNG Minyung

    Born in ChungnamProvince in 1973, animation director JUNG Minyung graduated from the Departmentof Painting at Hongik University’s College of Fine Arts. He received his master’sdegree in animation production from the Graduate School of Advanced ImagingScience at Chung-Ang University, followed by his doctoral degree from Chung-AngUniversity. His student films [Say My Name], [The Way], and [TheDiary Book] all received an award from Tokyo AnimaFair. His animation [Merry Golasmas] wasincluded in the 2008 omnibus film If YouWere Me: Anima Vision 2. Thereafter, he released his following films [Paradise] in 2011 and [Home] in 2017. His recent work [Flower Heart] received the Korean Animation Prize at the SeoulInternational Cartoon and Animation Festival(SICAF) in 2018. He currently worksas a planning and animation director at Clock House animation studio.

    KIM Heeseon

    KIM Heeseon is an animation director and motion graphicsanimator. She produced the interactive orchestra [Butterfly Lover] at the RoyalCollege of Music and directed the short animation [The River] at the RoyalCollege of Art. The latter was shown at Zagreb, Hiroshima, Interfilm and manyother film festivals. Currently, she is producing her second animation [OnOrigin].

    HONG Deokpyo

    HONG Deokpyo is adirector of short and feature-length animations. His short animation [Between](2001) was invited to the 9th Hiroshima International Animation Festival(HIAF),and his 2004 work [Man Talk] received the Jury Special Prize from the 30thSeoul Independent Film Festival(SIFF). He directed his first feature lengthanimation [Master and Man] in 2014 and his second feature length animation [TheSenior Class] in 2016.

    MO Eun-young

    Programmer MO Eunyoung majored in film theoryand animation theory. She was a writer for EBS programs such as Cinema Paradisoand Anitopia as well as for numerous film columns in magazines and dailynewspapers such as FILM2.0, DVD2.0, and KINO. MO Eunyoung has also worked as a programmerfor Korean Film Archive Cinematheque KOFA for nine years, since it firstopened. She currently works as a programmer and a programming consultant forevents such as Indie-AniFest, the Jeju Film Festival.

    PARK Jee-youn

    PARK Jee-youn wasborn in Sacheon, South Gyeongsang Province, in 1974. She is a director of shortanimations and an assistant director at the animation studio Now or Never. Shedebuted with her short animation [Instant Memory]. Her second short animation [TheThings She Can’t Avoid in the City] received numerous awards including grandprizes at the Seoul Independent Film Festival and the Star of Indie Grand Prizeat Indie-AniFest. Her third short animation [Camels] participated incompetition at prestigious international animation festivals including Annecy,Ottawa, and Zagreb. She served as an assistant director for the feature-lengthanimation [The Satellite Girl and Milk Cow] and the art director for [Ireesha,the Daughter of Elf-king].

    LEE Kyu-tae

    LEE Kyu-tae is ananimation director, comic artist, and illustrator. His illustrations andanimations explore his understanding and expression of objects and spaces. Heis the creator of short-form comics and animations including [Here Winter], [TheBig Boy], and [Each Other]. He enjoys collaborations that involve the medium ofillustration.

    Mike NGUYEN

    Mike Nguyen receivedhis BFA in Character Animation at the California Institute of the Arts in1988.  Since then, he has workedprimarily in the feature animation industry in the USA as a Character Animatorin various studios, including Walt Disney, Warner Bros., and DreamWorksAnimation.  Among the films he had workedon include the critically acclaims [The Iron Giant] as a supervising animator.

    In 2000, heco-founded July Films, an independent theatrical animation production companyand his directing debut is the theatrical animated feature entitled [My LittleWorld], currently in production. He was also a Character Animation instructorat the California Institute of the Arts from 1994 to 2010, and also has givenfrequent animation workshops in Denmark, Ireland, Thailand, Taiwan and Korea.He is currently a professor at the Chungkang College of Cultural Industries inthe Animation Department. His primary interest is the hand-drawn animationfilmmaking medium and aims to reflect beautiful thoughts toward this life onEarth.

    Koji YAMAMURA

    Koji YAMAMURA was born in 1964. During the1990s, He refined his style, spending much of his time making films forchildren. Nominated for an Oscar for Best Animated Short, [Mt. Head] marked aturning point, he to a place among the world’ s top animation filmmakers by [TheOld Crocodile](2005), [Franz Kafka’ s A Country Doctor](2007) and [Muybridge’sStrings](2011). Those films got awarded more than 90 prizes include the grandprizes of 4th big animation festival, Annecy, Zagreb, Ottawa and Hiroshima. Heworked for international jury a lot and held on many retrospective screeningsaround the world. He received Medal with Purple Ribbon in 2019.

    He is membership of the Academy of MotionPicture Arts and Sciences, a professor of Tokyo University of the Arts.

    Boris LABBE

    Born in 1987 in Lannemezan, France, Boris LABBEis an artist and animation film director working between France and Spain. Hisart comes through several forms: short films, audiovisual concerts and videoinstallations. He collaborates with Sacrebleu Productions since 2013. His shortfilm The Fall was selected in special screenings at the 57th Semaine de laCritique, Cannes Festival.

    LEE Yongsun

    Since graduating from the ChungKang Collegeof Cultural Industries, LEE Yongsun is now an animation director and universityinstructor. His fourth short animation [Toilet Concours] won the prize for bestindependent animation, the audience prize, and the audience jury prize at the2015 Indie-AniFest. His first short animation [I'll Just Live in Bando] won thegrand prize at the 2018 Anifilm Festival(ANIFILM) in the Czech Republic.

    LEE Yong-Cheol

    LEE Yong-Cheol is a film critic and graduateof Yonsei University. He has served as a member of the Korean Association ofFilm Critics, a manager of independent film distribution at the Seoul FilmCommission, and an editor at Cine21 and Extreme Movie.

    He is a contributor and lecturer fororganizations including Cine21, Korean Air, the Korean Film Archive, Seoul ArtCinema, and Extreme Movie. His writing has been published by media outletsincluding the Seoul Shinmun, Chosun Ilbo, Joongang Ilbo, Hankyoreh, and Film2.0.

    He taught film theory at the Korean Academyof Film Arts and served as a jury member at festivals such as the BucheonInternational Fantastic Film Festival(BIFFF), Seoul Independent Film Festiva(SIFF)l,Asiana International Short Film Festival(AISFF), Jeonbuk Independent FilmFestival(JIFF), Seoul Eco Film Festival(SEFF), DMZ International DocumentaryFilm Festival(DMZ IDFF), and EBS International Documentary Festival(EBS IDF).

    JANG Nari

    JANG Nari was born in 1985 and graduated fromthe Korea National University of Arts Department of Animation. She is currentlyworking as an independent animation filmmaker. She is the creator of theindependent animated shorts [Twinkling](2011), [Home Sweet Home](2012), and [MyFather’s Room](2016) and the web animations [I'm Sorry I'm Pathetic](2017) and [TheBlack Crocodile](2017). Her next project is currently in production afterreceiving a short film grant from the Korea Creative Content Agency in 2018.
