    LEE Kyunghwa

    From 2004 to 2007, she worked on a variety of animation productions for theater and television. Since then, she has worked with numerous film festivals including the Seoul Cartoon and Animation Festival (2008~2015), Busan International Film Festival (2008), Indie-AniFest (2009~present), Seoul Best of the Best Animation Festival (2015), and KOC! ANI (2018). Currently, she is the program coordinator for the Indie-AniFest Asia Road Competition and the festival producer for the SIGGRAPH Asia 2020 Computer Animation Festival.

    LEE Jonghoon

    LEE Jonghoon is an animation director and co-CEO of VCRWORKS, an animation production studio and independent publisher. He created the short film <Walking on a Dream> at Korea Animation High School. Since entering Korea National University of Arts, he made the short films <My Ball> and <The Starry Night>. He is currently planning the animated series <The Architect A> and creates animations for diverse platforms including animated short films, advertisements, and music videos.

    HAHM Junseo

    HAHM Junseo is an animation director and media artist based in Seoul, Korea. His current work is focused on digital expression of biology inspired life-forms. After studying art theory in Korea and experimental animation at Cal Arts USA, he worked at Bent Image Lab in Portland as a designer and director and then Cheil Worldwide in Seoul as a planner. His films have screened at numerous film festivals including Ottawa International Animation Festival. Currently Junseo HAHM is a professor at Kunkuk University in Chungju, Korea.

    LEE Yongsun

    ANIMATION DIRECTOR.
    Since graduating from the Chung Kang College of Cultural Industries, LEE Yongsun is now an animation director and university instructor. His fourth short animation [Toilet Concours] won the prize for best independent animation, the audience prize, and the audience jury prize at the2015 Indie-AniFest. His first short animation [I'll Just Live in Bando] won the grand prize at the 2018 Anifilm Festival(ANIFILM) in the Czech Republic.

    LIM Hyunsook

    LIM Hyunsook is the manager of performing arts, service planning and brand collaboration for Naver’s Grafolio, a content platform where creatives in diverse areas, including illustration, photography, and animation, can engage with their fans. In the recent period of social distancing, more people than ever before are going online in search of culture and entertainment such as musicals, performances, ballet, theater, and exhibitions. LIM is working to present these contents in a video format for broadcast on Naver TV.

    CHOI Yujin

    CHOI Yujin studied at Sungkonghoe University’s Graduate School of Cultural Studies and received her MA from the Department of Culture and Arts Management in 2007. She joined the Korean Independent Animation Filmmakers Association’s executive committee in 2006 and became the General Manager of the committee in 2007. She was the Festival Manager of the Indie-AniFest festival committee until 2017 when she became the committee’s Festival Director. Since 2010, she has also worked in the distribution of independent animations through the AniSEED project, and she is currently involved in film screenings, distribution, education, and policy-making related to independent animations.

    CHUNG Joo-a

    CHUNG Joo-a made her debut short film <What This Naughty Boy Has to Say> in 2007, followed by <Bad Memories of the Ghost> in 2010. Thereafter, she has made installations of her work in exhibition spaces using diverse media including animation, drawing, and painting. In addition, she made the short films <Honest Man> (2013) and <Hesitating Dog) (2018), and held solo exhibitions in Alternative Space Loop (2015), Whanki Museum (2015), and Emu Art Space (2018).

    HAN Jiwon

    HAN Jiwon graduated from the Department of Animation at Korea National University of Arts. Her short film <Kopi Luwak> (2010), which was made at the university, received the Star of Indie Grand Prize at Indie-AniFest and marked the beginning of her filmmaking career. In 2015, she released the feature-length animated omnibus film <Clearer than You Think>—a compilation of her short films <Kopi Luwak>, <On the Way to School>, <Lucky Me>, and <Say You Love Me>. From November 2017 to January 2019, she published the 10-part webtoon series <The Recipe Given to Daughter> which received the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award at the Korea Content Awards. She works in a diverse range of platforms from advertising, music videos, and web series to feature-length animations.

    NAH Ho-won

    NAH Ho-won, an animation researcher and lecturer at Dankook University and Chung Ang University. He studied experimental animation production at the California Institute of the Arts(MFA), and animation theory at the Royal College of Art(MPhil). He completed his doctoral program at Loughborough University studying animation theory.
    Furthermore, he produced short animations including <Ballad of Life & Death>(Toilet Paper, 1999), <Plastic Trauma: Requiem for Narcissus and Ophelia>(Stop Motion, 2004), and worked as a cartoon and film critic after winning awards in Sport Seoul’s competition(cartoon critique category) and in a new critics competition hosted by KINO. Translated Kit Labourne’s <The Animation Book> and Olivier Cotte’s <The Secret of Oscar Winning Animations> into Korean. Now he is writing animation columns and critiques in numerous media.

    Jinny Hyejin CHOO

    Majored in Animation and Illustration and received an MFA in Art and Film from the Graduate School of Advanced Imaging Science, Multimedia, and Film, Chung-Ang University, Seoul in Korea and a Doctorate in Animation Theory and Contents Producing from the same university in 2015. She is a guest professor at School of Film, TV & Multimedia, the Korea National University of Arts. Beginning with Pucheon International Student Animation Festival in 2000, she was involved in Seoul International Cartoon Animation Festival, Gwacheon SF Film Festival, and is currently working for SIGGRAPH ASIA 2020 as the conference chair and Indie-AniFest as a programmer. She has studied on the possibility of Integrated Art Therapy through animations, as she has performed animation therapy workshops for children, teenagers and adults since 2010.

    MO Eunyoung

    Programmer MO Eunyoung majored in film theory and animation theory. She was a writer for EBS programs such as Cinema Paradiso and Anitopia as well as for numerous film columns in magazines and daily newspapers such as FILM2.0, DVD2.0, and KINO. MO Eunyoung has also worked as a programmer for Korean Film Archive Cinematheque KOFA for nine years, since it first opened. She currently works as a programmer and a programming consultant for events such as Indie-AniFest, the Jeju Film Festival.

    LEE Kyu-tae

    LEE Kyu-tae is an animation director, comic artist, and illustrator. His illustrations and animations explore his understanding and expression of objects and spaces. He is the creator of short-form comics and animations including [Here Winter], [The Big Boy], and [Each Other]. He enjoys collaborations that involve the medium of illustration.

    KIM Yunkyoung

    KIM Yunkyoung is an animation creator and educator. She produced the short animation Insectichild in 2015, which received the Jury Special Prize at the Ismailia International Film Festival, and was invited to the World Panorama section of the ANIMANIMA Festival and the International Program of the 60th DOK Leipzig in Germany. In 2017, KIM created [Misty] which was screened in the Panorama Section of the Stuttgart International Film Festival. The film was also invited to be shown at the 2018 Indie-AniFest’s Independent Walk program. KIM is also an art director and film director for EBS-TV’s [Art Odyssey], [School Land] and many other programs. KIM is currently a professor at the Animation School of the Chung Kang College of Cultural Industries.

    Sung MOON

    Sung MOON starting with the JEONJU IFF program team in 2004, she has been active in international industry events and documentaries, including the Busan International Film Festival, KT&G Sangsangmadang Cinema, JEONJU Project Market, and Docs Prot Incheon. Since 2013, she has served as a representative for Latin America at Korean Film Council and has been working as a programmer for JEONJU IFF since 2019.

    KANG Jun-won

    KANG Jun-won was born in Seoul in 1976. He graduated from Yonsei University’s Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Korean Academy of Film Arts where he studied animation direction. He released the short animations [Arirang] in 2000 and [Hey~ Jung-Hyun] in 2004. He is currently the head of the Digital Business Team at Haksan Publishing.

    LEE Jin-ah

    Beginning with the poster design for the 100,000 won Video Festival in 1999, LEE Jin-ah has designed posters for numerous cultural events and film festivals including the Women’s Film Festival, Seoul Independent Documentary Film & Video Festival, Indie-AniFest, International College Peace Film Festival, and Women’s Cultural Festival. LEE is also a freelance illustrator for diverse projects.

    KIM Hyemi

    KIM Hyemi is an animation director who graduated from the Department of Art at Pusan National University and the Department of Animation at the Korean Academy of Film Arts. Her short animation [Little King] won the Star of Indie Grand Prize at the Indie-AniFest2015. She recently completed her first feature-length animated film, [Climbing].

    JEON Seung-bae

    JEON Seung-bae graduated from Chung-Ang University’s Graduate School of Advanced Imaging Science, Multimedia & Film where he studied animation production. He is an animation director at Toyville Animation Studio. JEON created the stop-motion animations What’s Wrong? (2008), See You Later (2014), [The Time of Two Boys (2016)], and [Saturday’s Apartment (2018)]. His work has been shown at world-renowned film festivals and received numerous awards, including the competition section of Clermont Ferrand Short Film Festival, the Audience Award at the New York International Children’s Film Festival, the Best Asian Short Film Award at the Sapporo International Film Festival, and the Best Technique Award at Digicon6 Asia. He produced numerous animated advertisements, exhibitions, and promotional films, and he produced and directed the Shinsegae Department Store’s Christmas animation in 2017 and 2019. He is currently expanding his creative fields as the author of a children’s book titled Kung Kung Apartment based on his short animation Saturday’s Apartment.

    JEONG Jung-yeop

    JEONG Jung-yeop taught himself to play the guitar throughout high school and was part of a short-lived band. Wishing to continue his musical journey, he majored in guitar at university. Disliking the primarily jazz-centric focus of his school, he eventually switched to songwriting and joined with other musicians at Hongik University including The Smiles, Fortune Cookie, Ji-eun OH, and Linus’s Blanket. JUNG collaborated the longest with the band Kiha & The Faces, which was disbanded in early 2019. Since then, JUNG has been a freelance musician and is currently a member of the bands LEENALCHI, 우주도깨비, and Tatles. He contributed to the music for the film A Resistance and the Netflix movie Persona - Love Set (dir. Kyung-mi LEE). He debuted as a music director with the film Lucky Chan-sil, and he was also the music director for Seoul 7000 and A Happy Businesswoman (Ttosuni), which were the opening films for the Seoul Independent Film Festival and Muju Film Festival respectively.

    JE Jeongju

    JE Jeongju is a producer who graduated from the School of Film, TV & Multimedia at Korea National University of Arts. She is the CEO of the production company ATO, which produced [The World of Us (2015)], [Yongsoon (2016)], and [The House of Us (2019)]. She was the producer for numerous works including [Adulthood (2017)] and [Last Child (2017)].

    CHO Kyunghun

    CHO Kyunghun produced his first short animation, [Constipation], in 1995. After making his next short animation [Hungry] in 2000, he launched Studio Animal. He was the producer for a wide range of commercial works made by Studio Animal including [Medical Island], [Ghost Messenger], [Hang On], and [Nobless]. He recently directed the feature-length horror-thriller animation [Beauty Water], marking his debut as a director of commercial films. He is currently serving as the chairman of the Korea Animation Industry Association.
