Synopsis
Theuniverse came to a stop one day because time and space ran out of memory. TheCreator downgraded the universe after copying it to a smaller space-timecontinuum, all the while contemplating the abstract and semi-abstract pieces.
Director's Comment
I havegreat interest in space-time beyond our current realm of existence. I oftenimagine a universe with different fundamental laws and building blocks ofexistence. The important elements of science fiction are world-building,situations, and speculations, and I wondered if these could be based onsomething other than science. For instance, let us imagine “art fiction,” or imagining artistic elementsas the basis for our speculative universe: art in the far future, the art ofextraterrestrial beings, and the art of alternative history (What if Duchampbecame a chess player sooner?). What would art be like in a world withdifferent physics or where every living being practices art? What if artisticconcepts were the basis of the fundamental laws of physics? These are the kindsof questions that are the starting point for my work.
