Synopsis
One day a Japanese ghost appeared at thedisplaced old man’s house who is alone in Amidong Stone Village in Busan. It is abizarre village where refugees built their homes on Japanese cemeteries. Theold man and the ghost began to live together. The ghost asked him to find histombstone to return to his hometown. He grunted but went out to find it. What’s their story? Can he find the tombstone?
Director's Comment
Long ago, while watching thenightscape of Korea where the crosses on churches shine in the dark, I thoughtthat there was no place in this world without a grave. For thousands of years,the lives and deaths came and went, as we continued our lives on top of tombs.I was happily surprised when I first encountered the original book thatinspired this animation, because this old thought of mine was expressed througha meaningful story. There are many historical traces in Busan that cannot beseen simply by looking at the surface. I would like to introduce one of thosestories.
