Synopsis
My feeling of psychological distance from Jochiwon is proportionalto my physical distance. This animation expresses that relationship, from myhigh school self standing in Jochiwon to my current self standing there.
Director's Comment
In mysecond year of high school, the letters of the name ‘Jochiwon’ gave me afeeling of strangeness and discomfort. It was followed by the word ‘Eup’(referring to a small town) which made me feel uncomfortable since I had livedmy whole life in the city. At the time, my physical distance from Jochiwon was143.89 km, and this also reflected the sense of psychological distance I feltfrom that place. Now, I am in the same place, or 0 km from Jochiwon, bothphysically and mentally. This animation shows the psychological change that Iexperienced.
