Synopsis

In the far, far future, an astronautwas forced to land on some unknown planet, after his long exploration throughspace. Even he hasn’t prepared for such emergency, he consistently tries tocommunicate to planet earth. Which didn’t work out cause his device was unableto reach them. Time passes by, and he becomes more and more anxious that hesees illusions as chances seem to run out.

Director's Comment

Anyonecan experience partings. Which also seems like one of the asteroids aroundearth. ‘Distance of star’ shows longings and regrets to his former loverthrough an astronaut colliding on some unknown planet. In the animation, planetearth means ‘lover’, and we tried to direct the irretrievable reality that hecan’t get back to his lover even though he wants to. Also, we directed withcontrasts of the colors to express ‘the feels when breakups’, and depressedcolors to show that ends of the relationship is ‘dull, even with colors’.
